Studio WorkshopsCelebrate and Create! Treat the birthday boy or girl and their guests to a fun and interactive visual and performing arts workshop taught by a practicing artist-educator in one of our professional studios. Painting/Mixed Media $330 up to 12 children 1 hour workshop ACRYLIC PAINTING Ages 8+ Enter the world of Picasso and Van Gogh while learning to paint acrylic on canvas. Explore colour, composition and expression and take home your very own masterpiece! COLLAGE Ages 4+ Mix it all up in this workshop and get a chance to experiment with variety of artists’ materials, including pastels, paint, fabric, paper, foam and more to create a one-of-a-kind work of art. CARTOONING AND ANIMÉ Ages 6+ Manga style cartoons are all the rage! The children will enjoy creating their own characters, while using their favourite animation for inspiration. PUPPET MAKING Ages 4+ Its puppet mania! This hands-on, fun and creative workshop introduces the art of puppetmaking where each child will create their own fantastical puppet using a variety of materials. Ceramics$360 up to 12 children 1 hour workshop MASQUERADE MADNESS Ages 8+ The possibilities are endless! Create and decorate a fanciful mask using a variety of slip decoration and hand building skills. The only limit is your imagination! COOKIE PLATES Ages 5+ Little Cookie Monsters will love designing and creating their own special plates! A great introduction to working with clay - and a unique party favour. TREASURE CHESTS Ages 8+ Using the basic pinch pot, children will learn how to expand this technique and create a treasure chest for all their small wonders. COCOA MUGS Ages 10+ Enjoy creating and designing your own personalized cocoa mugs while exploring the fundamentals of working with clay and slip decoration. (This workshop is 1.5 hours in length at a cost of $380) All pieces will be kiln fired and glazed, giving each participant a beautiful finished piece.Pieces can be picked up within three weeks of your party. ”Very hands-on and interactive! All the kids had a fantastic time” ~ Parent Dance/Drama$300 up to 12 children 1 hour workshop SHOWTIME! Ages 5+ Every child will be a star in this workshop! While exploring singing, movement and acting, these young entertainers will create an unforgettable performance together. IMPROV AND DRAMA GAMES Ages 8+ For budding young actors! Through creative movement and improvisation, children will play drama games and create sketches. Their creativity will soar as high as their imaginations! HIP HOP Ages 6+ This workshop is energetic, fun and funky! The group will be led through a series of warm-up activities and learn basic dance steps and choreographed moves to top 40 hip-hop tunes. Every child is sure to get their groove on! Textile and Jewellery Making$360 up to 12 children 11/2 hour workshop SCREEN PRINTING Ages 10+ Screen printing offers the chance to create one-of-a-kind patterns and designs on a t-shirt* while learning the principles of colour and design. The finished personalized t-shirt makes a great party favour. *Note: Children must provide their own white t-shirts. PRINTMAKING - BLOCK PRINTS Ages 9+ Using one of the oldest printmaking techniques, children will carve simple designs as they learn about positive and negative space and colour theory to create beautiful and unique cards. JEWELLERY MAKING Ages 8+ Using colourful beads and simple techniques, children will try their hand at creating their very own jewellery. Projects include bracelets necklaces, keychains and more! It was nice that they had something so impressive to take home with them.” ~ Parent Wiggle ClubOur Theatre Performance Birthday Party packages will allow your child and their friends to discover the fun and delight of an exciting live performance from our Wiggle Club Series in either Hammerson Hall or RBC Theatre followed by a celebration in our party room. * Tickets are required to enter the theatre. Wiggle Performances can be viewed here PRICING & PARTY EXTRASSTUDIO WORKSHOP PACKAGES Workshops ranged from 1 to 1.5 hours in length depending on the age level and activity. Our workshop sizes are small so that your party can receive the maximum attention! All materials are included with the exception of t-shirts for Screen Printing. Fired clay can be picked up from the Centre three weeks after the party date. Most other projects can be taken home on the day of the party. Each studio party package includes 1 hour in our Party Room with access to a mini fridge, sink, coat rack and adjoined washroom facility. Full service hosting staff will assist you with room setup, meeting your guests and directing your group to the studio and party room. Additional Children: All workshops are for a minimum of 12 children. We can accommodate up to 25 children per workshop. Each additional child is $5 per child for Dance/Drama workshops and $7 per child for all other workshops Talk to us about adding a special theme to your party or customizing the project within your workshop! THEATRE PARTY PACKAGES $125 plus the cost of tickets PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Pizza Party: Additional $75. Includes pizza, juice, chips, treat, tablecloths, plates & cutlery for up to 12 children. Each additional child is $4.00. Please note we do not provide cake or loot bags. Aprons: Art can be messy! Living Arts Centre artists’ aprons are now available for purchase to protect clothing! Perfect as part of a loot bag. SMALL - $9.99 + tax; MEDIUM/LARGE - $11.99 + tax *All prices, policies and program offerings are subject to change without notice. Talk to us about adding a special theme to your party or customizing our current workshops! PARTY FACTSThe Party Room All party packages include the use of a party room for 1 hour. This room has a mini-fridge, washroom facilities adjoined, a sink and coat racks. 60-inch round tables and chairs will be set up, depending on the number of guests. Food NO food, drink or gum is allowed in the Studios or Theatres. All food is to be consumed in our party room. Please note the Centre is nut sensitive. Please refrain from bringing nuts and nut products into the Centre. All food is to be provided by you unless you have booked a Pizza Party. Invitations The cost of all parties includes Living Arts Centre invitations. Invitations will be provided at the time of booking. Party Host On the day of your event, a Birthday Party Host will meet you to help you setup the room, meet your guests and guide your group to the studio or theatre and party room. Decorations The Centre does not provide decorations; however, you are more than welcome to bring your own. Confirmation/Terms You will receive a party contract once you have confirmed your booking. The contract will outline the number of guests, the cost and the time of your party. A 50% deposit of your party fee must be paid in advance to confirm your booking for Studio packages and all tickets must be paid in full to confirm theatre packages. Payment accepted by cheque should be made out to The Living Arts Centre or by credit card. Cancellations Cancellation must be made one week prior to the party. Cancellations made less than one week before will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee, plus 25% of the party fee. Please note that tickets are non-refundable Workshops Workshops are taught by practicing artists in our professional studios. Workshops range from1 to 1.5 hours in length, depending on the age level and activity. All materials are included with the exception of t-shirts for Screen Printing. Fired clay can be picked up from the Centre three weeks after the party date. Most other projects can be taken home on the day of the party. Group Size Our workshop sizes are small so that your party can receive the maximum amount of attention! Please DO NOT exceed the maximum group size outlined in your contract. You will be required to confirm the number of participants 5 days prior to the party. What to Wear Please ask your guests to dress for mess if they are taking part in a Visual Arts Workshop. Living Arts artists’ aprons are available for purchase and help to protect clothing. See inside for more information! If you have booked for a Dramatic Arts or Dance Workshop, the party-goers should wear loose fitting clothes. Dance shoes are not necessary.
