Special Needs
If your child has any special needs, details must be disclosed at registration. Please note that we cannot provide one-on-one supervision or specific medical support. The Living Arts Centre is working in partnership with Community Living Mississauga through their Children’s Summer Support Program (CSSP) to offer a limited number of spaces to children with disabilities. Please note that these spaces will be filled only with successful applicants to the CSSP. Confirmation of CSSP acceptance and support must be presented prior to registration at the Living Arts Centre.
Class Size and Instruction
Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 16 campers, except where otherwise noted. Camper to staff and volunteer assistant ratios range from 4:1 to 5:1 depending upon the program. Your child’s camp experience is prepared and delivered by a qualified team of Instructors, Assistants and Volunteers. Camp Instructors are artist-educators with teaching experience. Camp Assistants are university or college students, and teen volunteers are interviewed and selected from local high schools.
Withdrawals
If you wish to cancel your registration, requests must be received in writing at least two weeks prior to the first day of camp. An administration fee of $25 will be charged for each cancellation. After this period, any cancellation requests must be accompanied by a medical certificate in order to receive a refund. You will be refunded for unattended days, less a $25 administration fee. The Living Arts Centre reserves the right to de-register a camper if he or she is deemed to be incompatible with the program. A refund will be issued for all unattended program days.
Program Cancellations
The Living Arts Centre reserves the right to cancel or combine individual courses if minimum registration is not achieved. A full refund will be issued for in the event of a cancellation.
Confirmation Packages
Registration done in person or on the phone will be confirmed by mail in the form of a confirmation package containing important information regarding camp programs. The package will also contain Health & Safety and Release forms that must be filled out for each attending camper and returned no later than June 14, 2010. Registrations completed online will receive an e-mail confirming their registration, as well as information regarding camp programs.
What to Wear
For all programs, comfortable clothing is best. For hands-on art programs, we recommend that children wear something to protect their clothing – art can be messy! Camp aprons are now available for purchase to help protect clothing!
