March Break CampMarch 14 - 18, 2011WHERE FUN MEETS THE ARTS!The Living Arts Centre is a dynamic venue where children can explore the wonders of the visual and performing arts. Camp programs are designed to provide fun, encouraging, creative and safe experience for children ages 6 14. Programs are taught by artist-educators in professional studios. Schedule Camp programs are one week in length, and run Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Supervised breaks are provided for all campers. See individual program descriptions for more details. This fun-filled program for young artists with big imaginations introduces them to the amazing possibilities of painting, drawing, sculpting, and much more. Part of each day will be spent going clay crazy in our Ceramics studio while the other part will be spent creating in our child-friendly Kidspace! NEW PROJECTS EACH YEAR! Clay pieces will be fired and ready for pick-up within three weeks of the end of the program. My child had an excellent experience. Jump into art with Art Craze! This dynamic and popular program provides an exciting introduction to a wide variety of art techniques and materials. NEW PROJECTS EVERY YEAR! Painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking will be explored. New artists will be amazed by the spectacular artworks they create, and returning ones will refine their skills! Ages 8-10Act Up!
Calling all budding actors! This exciting program takes campers on a fun and creative journey into the world of theatre! Through games and activities, campers will explore a variety of stage skills and techniques, and develop their talent and confidence for performing on stage. Our young actors will work towards a short performance for family and friends on the final day. Overall this is one of the best art camps we have been too. Get ready to move and groove in this new dance program! Campers will be lead through the basics of dance focusing on contemporary styles including hip hop and jazz. They will learn basic choreography and will also have an opportunity to develop their own choreographed dances, which they will present to family and friends at the end of the session. This is the perfect introduction to dance for campers who have an interest in dance, but no formal dance training is required. Ages 11-14TV Techniques
This ever popular program offers budding directors, script writers, and camera operators the chance to learn the fundamentals of TV production! Experience technical training in camera, lighting and sound, and explore the creative side of writing and acting by producing the first episode of your own TV program. A premier showing will be held in our film theatre on the final day. Each filmmaker will receive a copy of the final project.
