The Smart!Centres Atrium is beautifully dressed from floor to ceiling. The floor is polished granite tile, with a 64-step grand staircase reaching the third floor at the south end of the building. Most impressive is the dramatic floor-to-ceiling stained glass window work along the length of the atrium entitled "Dance of Venus" and Donor Wall, both designed and created by Mississauga artist Stuart Reid. With the furthest seat only 125 feet from the stage, Hammerson Hall has excellent sightlines from all three levels. Hammerson Hall is flawlessly suited for full-scale Broadway plays, concerts and major touring productions and community events, and was the 1999 Canada Music Week award winner for best venue under 1,500 seats. Using the theatre seating for the purpose of seminars or lectures, RBC Theatre can accommodate up to 310 people. When the theatre seats are retracted, the room provides a dramatic and intimate setting for social functions such as banquets or weddings for groups of up to 200 guests. Rogers Theatre is ideally suited for small recitals, presentations, business meetings, lectures, and film screenings. Optimal viewing from any seat is provided by the theatre`s tiered seating design.
