SCHOOL PERFORMANCES

How do I apply to book a workshop or performance? Contact our School Sales Representative by one of these methods:

How much does it cost? $10.00 per student + $15.00 handling fee per booking
(minimum fee per workshop is $200.00)

Teachers and parent supervisors attend School Workshops free of charge.
$10.00 per seat (including students, parents and teachers) plus a $15.00 handling fee per booking

JK - Grade 3:
for every 10 seats booked, one ticket is free
Grade 4 - 12: for every 25 seats booked, one ticket is free
When do I pay? Onsite Workshop: Day of your workshop
Outreach Workshop: At time of booking

How can I pay? Cheque Payable to: The Living Arts Centre

When is my booking confirmed? When our office receives your signed invoice.
Applying for a workshop or performance does not confirm your booking. You will be contacted by our office within 2 school days of receipt of your application to confirm or discuss your booking.

If you have not heard back from us within 5 school days of your initial application
please contact us.
Can I make changes to my booking? After one change to your booking there will be an additional $25.00 administrative fee for further modifications. Numbers can be adjusted up to 4 weeks or 20 school days prior to the performance.
Can I cancel my booking? Cancellations must be received in writing at least 10 school days prior to the date of the workshop or the full fee of the workshop will be charged. There will be no refunds after four weeks or 20 business days prior to the performance date.
What is the recommended ratio of adults to students? 1:10 for Grades JK - 3 | 1:25 for Grades 4 -12



What Else Do I Need To Know?

  • Lunch and refreshments are NOT available on location. If you are planning a full day of activities at The Living Arts Centre, a lunch space may be provided if available. Lunch alternatives are Square One or the Civic Centre’s cafeteria if time permits.
  • Special Laidlaw Bus rates are available when booking a school trip to the Living Arts Centre. Laidlaw buses will not pick up students prior to 9:15 am and must depart the Centre no later than 2 pm. Please contact Laidlaw Transit to arrange your bussing at 905.270.0561.
  • Please instruct your bus driver to drop you off at the West Entrance if you are attending a workshop and the South Entrance if you are attending a performance.
  • Teachers must remain with students AT ALL TIMES during your visit to the Living Arts Centre.
  • For information or to arrange a pick-up time for work from our Ceramics workshops, please call the Studio Arts Administrative Assistant at 905.306.6033.

Combine two workshops, one workshop with one performance, or one of either a workshop or performance with a gallery visit to the exhibition currently showing in Laidlaw Hall. Call to book a free class tour of City Hall. Tours are 1 hour and 15 minutes, beginning at 10:00 a.m. weekdays. Maximum one class per tour. The Civic Centre’s 12th floor cafeteria is also an option for lunch if you’ve chosen to make a day of it at the
Centre.

Note: The Living Arts Centre does not offer school tours of the Centre.
